A Nightmare given to Retnuh by Strahd von Zarovich on the road outside Barovia village, to ride for as long as she chooses to stay at his side. She is ash grey, her coat seeming to smoulder faintly at the edges, with a mane amber-bright and hot to the touch and eyes that burn a deep, steady orange. When Retnuh fed her a handful of nuts, they roasted lightly in his palm as she ate.
Virro suspects she could be watching the party and reporting back to her old master. When he slapped her flank to drive her off, she reared and kicked him square in the chest, throwing him several feet and leaving him unconscious with his surcoat smouldering. Ireena Kolyana has since proposed using her as a channel to feed Strahd misinformation.
