Wandering people who travel Barovia in barrel-topped wagons, moving freely through the mists that trap everyone else. Flamboyant where Barovians are drab, they dress in bright colours, laugh often, and drink heartily. They are silversmiths, coppersmiths, storytellers, fortune tellers, and horse traders.
The party encountered a camp of Vistani near a tributary of the River Ivlis, where they met Madam Eva, Laszlo, The Storyteller, Norella, and others. Three Vistani women, Mirabelle, Sorvia, and Alenka, were later found at the The Blood of the Vine tavern in Barovia village, where it emerged they own the establishment.
Vistani consider it a terrible sin to take valuables from a corpse, though they consider it fair game to steal from the living.
